Thewis

About the Journal

Thewis is the online journal of the Gesellschaft für Theaterwissenschaft (gtw). It was founded in 2004. Thewis is primarily intended to be a forum for contributions by interested and committed early career scholars. Thus, especially students and doctoral candidates in theatre studies and related disciplines are invited to use Thewis as a platform tto seek a public audience that goes beyond the context of a seminar, colloquium or workshop at an early stage. In addition, Thewis is particularly suitable for materials and research results with a preliminary character. It can be the place for first publications that profit from the challenge of being published. Thewis is also the place for the presentation of projects in search of contacts and collaborators or simply in search of discussion partners. Besides, Thewis may be the right address for topics that seem outlandish at first as well as for formats that do not neatly fit into an anthology because they are too long or too speculative or have too many illustrations, film or audio examples. In this respect, the options are many.

The publication of the journal rotates between the institutes of theatre studies, usually after two years.
